When Coin88 first launched in 2018, Malaysia's online betting market was in a phase of rapid but disorganised growth. Some platforms offered high odds but painfully slow withdrawal processes that took days. Others had a wide range of games but customer support that did not understand the language or needs of local users. And some relied on complicated international payment methods that were simply not suited to Malaysian users who were far more comfortable with DuitNow or eWallets.
Why Coin88 Exists — The Problems We Solve
The founders of Coin88 saw a clear gap in the market. Malaysians interested in online betting deserve a platform genuinely built for them — not a "localised" version of an international platform that misses the local context entirely. They deserve a platform that speaks their language, accepts payments through methods they actually use, and has a support team that knows the Malaysia Super League, the Thomas Cup, and the local sports culture.
That is the foundation on which Coin88 was built — not to compete with large global platforms on scale, but to be the most relevant, most user-friendly, and most trusted platform made specifically for Malaysian players. Seven years on, with over 850,000 active members, we believe that original vision has proven itself.
What Sets Coin88 Apart from Other Platforms?
There are a few things Coin88 does differently from most other betting platforms operating in Malaysia. First and most notably, our approach to payments. We recognised early on that Malaysian players expect convenience — they are already accustomed to instant transactions via DuitNow, Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, and other local digital payment methods. So we built a payment integration that processes deposits in under 30 seconds and completes withdrawals within 15 minutes. This is not an empty promise — it is Coin88's daily operational standard.
The second is our approach to sports content. Coin88's sports analyst team is made up of individuals who genuinely follow Malaysian sports closely — they watch Malaysia Super League matches every weekend, keep up with BWF badminton tournaments, and have a deep understanding of local player and team dynamics. This means the markets Coin88 offers are the most relevant for Malaysian players — not simply a copy-paste of markets from European platforms.
Coin88's Commitment to Responsible Gaming
Coin88 believes that good betting is smart betting. We do not just provide a platform — we also invest in tools and resources that help our members play responsibly. These include daily and weekly deposit limit features that members can set themselves, a Self-Exclusion feature that lets members temporarily suspend account access, and information and links to professional support organisations available in Malaysia.
The Responsible Gaming Award we received in 2023 is more than external recognition — it validates that our approach in this area makes a real difference to our members. We are proud of this track record and will continue strengthening our responsible gaming initiatives as a core part of our company's commitment.
